I lie in bed, waiting for darkness to envelope me.

I ask the night to allow my mind to rest, and my soul to slumber.

I beg for the memories of my haunting past to be lost, and ripped asunder.

I plead for mercy and blessings to be bestowed upon on the ones I love.

I know you can grant this to me, as you watch from above.

I hope that dawn comes, and beckons me to rise once again.

So that I may live and love, this all I ask.
