O LORD JESUS CHRIST, my Suffering Savior, Who found Thyself in utter desolation and abandonment in Thy Passion and Crucifixion, strengthen me by Thy Holy Passion, and raise me up from my state of depression and downcastness.

“OUT OF THE DEPTHS, I CRY UNTO THEE, O LORD,” I cry in the words of Thy Psalmist. Lift up my spirit from its state of dejection and abandonment.

From the depths of my loneliness and lowliness, raise me up to the new hope and comfort, and keep me from falling into despair and despondency.

O MY JESUS, Who Thyself suffered such abandonment, raise me up in a happy resurrection from my pitiful state.

O HOLY VIRGIN MARY, SORROWFUL MOTHER, who thyself shared in the sufferings and desolation of thy Divine Son, be for me a true Comfort of the Afflicted and a true Refuge, now and forever.
